One of the questions I get asked a lot is how can I create a vanity name for my Facebook profile ?

Brand your business of yourself with a Vanity URL. What is a vanity url, well just think of it as a customizable link which is short, easy to remember and can be shared without remembering all that goobligah. (pronounced goo-blee-glah yeah, I just made that up)

 

By default yourFacebook profile url would look something sickly like

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=xxxxxxxxxx

This can be very difficult to remember and it sucks if you are trying to share it with someone. Heck try putting that on a business card.

It would look like pure ca-ca and we don’t like that.

After you get all fancy and choose the name for your facebook profile the url it will look like

http://www.facebook.com/<username>

It’s short, simple, and easy and by golly I like it!

Visit the link below and set the vanity url for your Facebook profile.

http://www.facebook.com/username/

You can also do this for “Like” pages (aka Fan Page), however you must have at least 25 people joined before that option

is available.
